Jim is coming to us after a 36 year career in education. He spent half of that career as a teacher and school administrator in the Cobourg-Port Hope area and the other half as a Superintendent with the Thames Valley District School Board. During his tenure as a Superintendent, Jim was also Chair of the Ministry of Education's provincial e-Learning Advisory Committee and Chair of the Ontario e-Learning Consortium comprised of seventeen school districts from across the province. The hallmarks of Jim's career were his belief in people, his creativity, and his ability to assist others in successfully managing change. During his time in the Cobourg-Port Hope area, Jim spent considerable time Apasley and surrounding area both in his role as an educator and with his family. It is these attributes and others that we believe will support the already successful team at Bowes and Cocks.

Jim and his wife Charlotte recently moved to the Apsley area. Until June 2008 Charlotte was a teacher of students with developmental challenges. In her time working with these special students, Charlotte had significant involvement with the Special Olympics both in the Thames Valley District School Board and provincially. Additionally, she was and is an advocate for the use of technology to support the learning of children and adults. As such she has presented, and continues to present, workshops and information to others. Their son Jeff, a father of one with one more on the way, works with developmentally challenged adults in the Ajax-Pickering area and their daughter, Sara a mother of one, is on staff at H.B. Beal S.S. in London.
